Landry Jones - Big 12 NCAA College Football Odds: Oklahoma Visits Kansas State

Certainly the most surprising remaining unbeaten team in the nation has to reside in the Little Apple, otherwise known as Manhattan, Kan., as Kansas State Wildcats hosts its biggest game in years today when the Wildcats face Oklahoma Sooners. The Sooners opened as 14-point favorites on Bodog Sportsbook’s Big 12 NCAA College Football Odds.

Oklahoma (6-1, 3-1 Big 12) was the preseason No. 1 team in the land but was stunned last Saturday at home by Texas Tech, 41-38, ending OU’s national-leading 39-game home winning streak. Landry Jones threw for 512 yards and five touchdowns but the Sooner defense was gutted for 572 total yards. That loss dropped Oklahoma to No. 9 in the BCS standings and basically ended its national title hopes, although the Big 12 title is certainly still possible.

Kansas State (7-0, 4-0) was unranked to start the season but is now No. 8 in the BCS standings and atop the Big 12 with Oklahoma State – the Wildcats are at OSU next week. The K-State offense is clicking of late, scoring 100 total points in the past two wins. In a 59-21 blowout of Kansas last week, Wildcats QB Collin Klein threw for a career-high 195 yards and accounted for five touchdowns. Klein ranks third nationally among FBS quarterbacks in rushing with his 95.7-ypg average. KSU is 7-0 for the first time since 1999.

Oklahoma has won four in a row in this series but the two haven’t played since a 42-30 OU win in 2009. This will be only the sixth in the history of the series that the Wildcats head into the game with a higher national ranking than the Sooners, with K-State holding a 4-1 record in those games. OU is just 1-4 in its past five Big 12 games. The Cats are 4-0 in their past four as a dog.
