NBA Basketball Betting: Boston Celtics at New York Knicks - Jeff Green

Two of basketball’s classic franchises will collide on Monday night when the New York Knicks host the Boston Celtics. Bodog Sportsbook's online sportsbook has all the NBA basketball odds you'll need if you think you know how it will all go down.

The Boston Celtics (49-19, 32-34-2 ATS) are coming off an 89-85 win over the Hornets. Boston hasn’t played very well lately, winning just three times in the past seven games. The Celtics have been even worse against the spread, going 3-6 in their past nine outings vs. the NBA odds.

Boston’s offense isn't exactly explosive, but it’s been noticeably bad over the past couple of weeks. The Celtics are averaging just 85.0 points in their past six games, and it’s no coincidence Rajon Rondo has struggled mightily over that stretch. Rondo has cracked double-digit scoring in five straight games, averaging just 3.4 points in that span. Even his assists are down considerably, with just 6.6 per game over his last five starts.

With Rondo struggling, deadline acquisition Jeff Green has given the team a spark off the bench. Green, who gets about 23 minutes a night, is averaging 11.5 points per game since joining the Celtics. Green hit five of his seven field goal attempts for 10 points against the Hornets last weekend.

The New York Knicks (35-34, 40-27-2 ATS) have just one win in their past five games. They’ve lost back-to-back outings, including a 100-95 loss to the Bucks on Sunday. New York failed to cover, dropping to 1-4 ATS in its last five games and 7-8 (7-8 ATS) since trading for Carmelo Anthony.

Quite frankly, the team is in disarray—if it’s not one thing, it’s another. In Friday’s loss to the Detroit Pistons, New York was pretty sharp, hitting 45.7 percent of its shots. But Anthony was miserable (2-for-12, six points) and the team turned the ball over 18 times. The Knicks cut the turnovers down to six against the Bucks, but shot just 38.6 percent from the field.

Boston has won eight of its last 10 games against New York, though the Knicks are 6-4 against the spread. Although New York lost both games against Boston earlier this season, it has covered three straight against the Celtics.
